Ever wondered what it takes to run a marathon? Or compete in a triathlon? Or what about a duathlon?
What is a duathlon?
A duathlon is a two-sport race which involves running and cycling in three stages (run-bike-run). It’s great for those looking to move into multi-sport racing but may not be comfortable with an open water swim or for triathletes who cannot get in the open water over winter.
Why are we talking about them?
Part of our company culture is looking after ourselves as well as challenging ourselves, and we do this in the way of sport; we are an Australian founded company after all. Some cycle, some run, some play tennis, but only one embarks on duathlons; both nationally and internationally.
Our very own Project Manager Kate Baxter (that’s her in the picture above) here at INX, has secured a spot on the Australian team after earning enough points through qualifying races, for the duathlon at the Flyn 2018 ITU Multisport World Championships Festival!
Held in Denmark, in the towns of Odense, Svendborg and Middelfart, from the 6th – 14th of July 2018, this major international multi-sport festival consists of five world championships in the same week, and includes the Duathlon, Cross Triathlon, Aquathlon, Aquabike and Triathlon.
Green and gold…and blue
In the lead up to the event, Kate will be training and racing locally before putting on the green and gold in July, so you can see her in action here in Australia and in Denmark – also sporting our INX blue as part of our own sponsorship of Kate!
