We’ve made the rounds and spoke to our teams across our Perth, Brisbane, and Canadian offices to share with you what makes our people tick and why they do what they do.
Let’s meet Melanie.
1. What is your role, why did you join INX, and how long have you been here?
I’m the Compliance Manager and have been at INX for three and a half years. I started working as the Receptionist for Cube Consulting and INX Software. I had never worked in a corporate setting before and I felt that INX was a forward-moving company where I could move into a different career path. I have always been computer savvy so I felt that a software company would suit me. Also, the staff are all so friendly!
2. What is a memorable client/story you’d like to share?
I remember when I first started working on reception, I have a knack for recognising peoples voices on the phone and remembering their names. So, when clients would ring to talk to someone at INX, if they had rung before I would instantly know who they were and call them by their name. People like that and I think it made their interaction with INX a good experience, even if they were ringing to discuss a concern.
3. What interesting things have your job allowed you to do?
I think the most interesting thing this job has allowed me to do is work at anytime, anywhere. Due to the nature of my job, most of my work is internet-based. I love that I can turn on my computer and easily access my work at any time. The other interesting thing is all the different software platforms I have learned to use. I love learning how to use new software and finding out how I can make life easier with a computerised workflow.
4. What’s one piece of advice that has helped you in what you do today?
My partner once told me “not everybody thinks like you do.” That has helped me so much in my work, as I have to understand that everybody sees things differently. It makes me look at things from another perspective in order to produce something that everybody understands.
