SubscribeIntroducing new metadata views in the Analytical Layer, version tracking and metadata insights made easier
Available from 25 February 2024
New features
Introducing new metadata views in the Analytical Layer
For a better user experience, we have made the INX+BI tables with their descriptions, row counts and data storage size available as a new Analytical Layer view – vw_BI_MetaDataTables – as well as the table columns with their descriptions & data types – vw_BI_MetaDataColumns.
We are also pleased to introduce a new Analytical Layer view, vw_BI_MetaDataDatabase, that provides more insight into the data warehouse database. This includes the INX+BI version, collation, table count, view count, and total size, offering enhanced visibility and understanding of the database’s structure.
Improvements
Version tracking and metadata insights made easier
To make it easier to determine the installed version of INX+BI, we’ve added a Version table that records each installation and the date. Additionally, we have introduced a new Analytical Layer view, vw_BI_MetaDataDatabase, which provides detailed information about the data warehouse, including INX+BI version, collation, table count, view count, and total size.
Expanded participant details in the analytical view vw_BI_EventParticipant
We have enhanced the analytical view vw_BI_EventParticipant by adding three new fields: ‘Occupation Class Id’, ‘Occupation Name’, and ‘Occupation Active’. These new fields help provide more insight on participants’ occupation classes directly from the underlying DWH table Dim_OccupationClasses.
Fixes
Complete inferred date information
The date dimension now spans from 1-Jan-2000 to 31-Dec-{2 years from now}, including inferred dates beyond this range. We have enhanced these inferred dates by adding all the useful information fields, ensuring a complete and detailed dataset.
Supported surnames of up to 100 characters
INX+BI now supports surnames of up to 100 characters, aligning with INX Core and preventing truncation errors (previously only surnames of up to 50 characters were supported in INX+BI).
