Introducing the InHealth Email Listener and added support for OAuth Authentication

V 5.18.1

Available from 12 August 2025

Improvements

Introducing the InHealth Email Listener

The InHealth Email Listener service automates the import of lab results into the system, ensuring data is transferred quickly, accurately, and with minimal manual effort. It routinely checks a designated mailbox for new messages, extracts and validates the content and attachments, and imports the data into the appropriate areas of the InHealth platform.

Version 1.5.0 introduces key enhancements, including support for OAuth authentication ensuring compatibility with modern Microsoft 365 security standards and improvements to notification reliability and service startup stability. These updates enhance both the security and operational robustness of the email listener service.

Added support for OAuth Authentication

We’ve added support for OAuth authentication to the InHealth Email Listener, enhancing security and ensuring seamless compatibility with modern Office 365 standards.

This improvement addresses Microsoft’s deprecation of Basic Authentication for Office 365 (effective from 2021), ensures ongoing compatibility with modern security standards and enables continued automated email processing for Office 365 mailboxes.

Improved notification reliability for sample events

We have resolved an issue where email notifications were not consistently received when a sample event included a sampler without an email address.

Configured success notification recipients are now correctly included as primary recipients in the email’s “To” field, regardless of the sampler’s profile.

This enhancement improves the reliability of notification delivery and ensures consistent communication for all processed events.

Improved service reliability for InHealth Email Listener

We have resolved an issue that may have prevented the InHealth Email Listener service from starting on some servers due to a misnamed configuration file.

The service now correctly recognises the configuration file, ensuring it starts as expected and reliably checks the mailbox for new messages, as well as improving service stability across your environments.

Change “+” button location in Personal Profile section

In version 5.18.1, we have made a highly requested user experience enhancement by repositioning the ‘Add’ (+) button to the top of the table across all the applicable sections under Personal Profile- improving user experience.

Previously, users managing large lists (like 50+ CCPs or procedures) had to scroll to the bottom repeatedly to add new entries, with the page reverting to the top after each action. The ‘Add’ button is now clearly positioned at the top of the following tabs: Roles, Workgroups, Competencies, Compliances, Procedures, Training Events, and Attachments.

For example, within the Personal Profile > Workgroup and Personal Profile > Procedure sections (see screenshots), the ‘+’ button is now easily accessible at the top-left of the table.

Workgroup is now visible when creating medical bookings

The person’s workgroup is now displayed as a read-only field when creating bookings via Clinic Overview or the Health Calendar. This helps users select the appropriate test or consultation type based on job role, aligning with the behaviour already in place in the Health Monitoring and Clinic Register forms. This update improves consistency and supports better booking decisions across diverse workgroups.

New ‘Code’ field added to Data fields for improved hygiene reporting

A new ‘Code’ column has been added to the Data fields administration screen, allowing administrators to enter reference codes for each data field. This code now displays as an additional header row across key areas, including Sample Events, the Hygiene Data Viewer, and Hygiene Data Export. This enhancement has been introduced in preparation for supporting the upcoming roadmap item for improved hygiene reporting.

Consultation Summary Adhoc Report now includes all consultation statuses

The Consultation Summary adhoc report has been updated to include all consultations, including those in a booked or requested state. Previously, the report excluded consultations that had not yet been populated with assessor, provider, or location details. This change ensures future consultations are also captured, enabling a more complete view of upcoming activity.

Overdue Requests dashboard renamed and expanded to improve visibility of pending consultations

The Overdue Requests dashboard has been renamed to Consultation Requests and now includes all consultations with a status of “requested” for active users, regardless of booking date. The patient’s name now appears as the first column in the table, making it easier to identify who the request is for.

Fixes

Health Calendar no longer shows bookings for inactive users

We have updated the Health Calendar to exclude consultations and tests for users marked as inactive. Previously, bookings remained visible even after a user was deactivated, which could cause confusion during scheduling. The calendar now reflects only active user bookings, as intended.

Roster ‘Days On’ now correctly displays in Sample Events

When adding a person to a Sample Event, the system now correctly pulls through all roster details, including the ‘Days On’ value. Previously, only ‘Days Off’ and ‘Shift Length’ were populated, requiring manual entry of ‘Days On’ despite it being mandatory. This fix ensures all relevant roster fields are populated automatically, reducing manual effort and improving data consistency.

Duplicate notifications prevented when processing high volumes of scheduled reports

An issue was identified where restarting the scheduler in environments with a large number of daily scheduled reports (typically 40 or more) could result in duplicate notifications being sent. This has now been corrected. The system reliably handles bulk report processing without generating duplicates, even under high load conditions.
