New feature

Introducing the Serious Injury Frequency Rate data (SIFR) in the Corporate Summary report

We have introduced an enhancement to the Corporate Summary report, now incorporating Serious Injury Frequency Rate (SIFR) data. This data is included in separate columns within the report, providing a clear distinction between serious and non-serious injuries, and aids in reporting of serious injuries in compliance with Section 36 of the WHS act. This feature can be enabled by our team upon request.

  • SLTI (Serious Lost Time Injury) – The number of incidents classified as serious lost time injuries.
  • SRWI (Serious Restricted Work Injury) – The number of incidents classified as serious restricted work injuries.
  • SOTH (Serious Other Injury) – The number of incidents classified as other serious injuries.
  • SLTI Days – The total number of days lost due to serious lost time injuries.
  • SRWI Days – The total number of days lost due to serious restricted work injuries.
  • Total SI (Total Serious Injury) – The total number of serious injury incidents.
  • SLTI FR – The frequency rate of serious lost time injuries.
  • SLTI MAVG – The 12-month moving average of SLTI frequency rate.
  • SRWI FR – The frequency rate of serious restricted work injuries.
  • SRWI MAVG – The 12-month moving average of SRWI frequency rate.
  • SOTH FR – The frequency rate of other serious injuries.
  • SOTH MAVG – The 12-month moving average of SOTH frequency rate.
  • Total SI FR – The frequency rate of total serious injuries.
  • Total SI MAVG – The 12-month moving average of total serious injury frequency rate.

Frequency rate calculations:
The frequency rate formulas follow the existing injury type calculations:

  • Frequency Rate = (Number of injuries / Total hours worked) × 1,000,000
  • 12-Month Moving Average Frequency Rate = (Sum of injuries in the last 12 months / Sum of hours worked in the last 12 months) × 1,000,000

The 1,000,000 factor is derived from the “CurrentFrequencyRate” setting in the App Settings page in INX InControl.

To help you better track injuries against these calculations, we have introduced three new injury classifications:

  • Serious Lost Time Injury – Associated with lost time serious injury types.
  • Serious Restricted Work Injury – Associated with restricted work serious injury types.
  • Serious Other Injury – Associated with other serious injury types

Improvements

New fields added to SIFR reporting in the Corporate Summary report

To help enhance reporting and provide you with deeper insights into your SIFR data, we have updated the Corporate Summary report with several new fields. These fields will provide you with a clear 12-month moving average (12MMA) view of serious injury frequency rates:

  • SLTI 12MMA
  • SRWI 12MMA
  • SOTH 12MMA
  • Total SI 12MMA

The 12MMA is calculated as the average of frequency rates over the most recent 12 months, using the formula:
12MMA SIFR = (Sum of Monthly SIFRs for the Last 12 Months) ÷ 12

Clearer column headings in Corporate Summary Report

To improve readability in your Corporate Summary Report, the following column headings have also been updated:

  • SLTIMAVG → SLTI 12MM
  • SRWIMAVG → SRWI 12MM
  • SOTHMAVG → SOTH 12MM
