Last week, we held our first company-wide ‘Bootcamp’ session for the joint INX K2fly business. This brought together into our Perth office our product management and development teams plus representatives from Sales, CX, Marketing and Industries – from all parts of the world – to discuss and workshop our priorities, critical problems, product strategy, delivery methods and ways of working under one combined entity.

I’ve been known to say occasionally that “steel forges steel”. In this context, Bootcamp while a change and alignment event, was very much designed as a collaboration and co-commitment event where we, as a business, focussed on the largest priorities, and the biggest problems.

Throughout this 5-day intensive summit we hung up on the wall our vision, direction, priorities and product deliverables over the next 12 months. We also walked through and pressure-tested a new way of releasing our software to our customers for increased effectiveness to all departments, with increased efficiency for the PDG. We covered product domain integrations and looked at better ways to communicate and synthesise our roadmaps. Most importantly, the entire product and development group from all over Australia, South Africa, Germany and the Americas came together under one roof to build a culture for success founded on passion, focus, ruthless prioritisation, and customer centricity.

As part of the Bootcamp, we held spike sessions where employees discussed how the product group can better support the Sales & Customer Experience teams, encompassing Customer Success, Support, Implementation and Adoption – key areas that will enhance our business.

We have come out of bootcamp as a unified and aligned team with a clear focus on our priorities and an ‘attack mindset’ of what’s ahead of us – including obstacles. As we continue on this journey, and compile all our learnings and takeaways from Bootcamp, we will keep you informed on changes that will influence the way we partner together moving forward – for the better.
