People of INX: Gary Galanti

Meet our teams and the people behind the software. This is the People of INX Software series.

We’ve made the rounds and spoke to our teams across our Perth, Brisbane, and Canadian offices to share with you what makes our people tick and why they do what they do.

Let’s meet Gary.

1. What is your role, why did you join INX, and how long have you been here?

I’m the Senior Business Development Executive, and I’ve been at INX for 10 months now. One of the reasons why I joined INX was because I wanted to join an Australian-based company with its HQ closer to home, especially after working remotely for an American company and trying to function with an overwhelming time difference. I’m excited to contribute to my team’s success, to grow our efforts, made a difference and influence how we do things; to add value, be more hands-on, and more active.

2. What is a memorable client/story you’d like to share?

A memorable story was when I was working on finding the right solution to meet the needs of a large oil and gas organization to manage their workers. The right solution turned out to be InFlight, which was the perfect fit for their requirements and enterprise integration. Throughout this process, providing the opportunities for growth, getting both our and clients’ teams excited, foster collaboration and learning, and providing tips and expertise is what I enjoy the most.

3. What interesting things have your job allowed you to do?

It has allowed me to be part of company-wide strategic discussions, and to be part of an active team. Previously I was working remotely and team contact wasn’t face-to-face, which is important to me – I’m a people person.

4. What’s one piece of advice that has helped you in what you do today?

A piece of advice I’d pass on would be to be objective and to not instinctively react without taking the time to respond with purpose. Taking that time helps to assess things, plan your approach and response, and better your understanding of the topic or situation.

It’s also important to breathe.

5. Your favourite inspirational quote:

“When you’re green, you’re learning.
When you’re ripe, you’re rotting.
Stay green.”
