SOC 2 stands for Service Organisation Controls 2; a security standard widely recognised and respected to maintain best practices for a secure information system. The goal since the inception of SOC’s first iteration was to offer guidelines for protecting digital information systems and have a measured way for organisations to demonstrate their systems were low risk for investors.

Becoming SOC 2 compliant involved implementing a variety of applicable security practices and policies and then completing an audit through a third-party auditor. Not only is SOC 2 the most commonly accepted report, but it’s also considered one of the most rigorous reports that exist today.
